When An Elderly Man Falls In China

On 26th Nov. 2013, an elderly man fell while crossing the street in Jinghua, China.

A few passersby stopped their bikes and formed a circle to prevent other riders hitting the man. The man tried to stand up by himself, but failed. People stood around looking at each other, but no one dared to help the old man stand up. They called police and ambulance, and after examination. it was found that the elderly man had no serious injuries.

Some Chinese are loath to give assistance because of incidents like the one below:

Earlier this month, two high school students helped an elderly man up from his fallen bicycle, but the man accused the two students of knocking him down and demanded they pay for his medical expenses. The parents of the students paid 1200 yuan ($200). These two students then posted an online request for witnesses. A shop owner and some customers who saw the fall went to the police to give evidence. The old man had to return the money to the two students.

China Uncensored

The Chinese TV series "Journey to the West" was first made in 1986 in China, by producer Yang Jie. Due to extremely limited funds, the crew overcame many obstacles, and not only succeeded in completing the series, but also successfully depicted the morals and spirituality that Wu Cheng-en, the author of this ancient book tried to convey.

The TV series was broadcast more than 3000 times, and still is one of the most watched TV series in history.

However, a few film producers from Japan and Hong Kong have also made movies of "Journey to the West", but the producers themselves certainly went to the "West" alone, and not only changed the story line from the author of the original book, but also twisted the spirituality in the telling: The spirit of Gods, and the goodness of human nature was demonized, and lust and greediness wins the final battle.

They were maybe trying to make a comedy, but in fact, it became a twisted educational material for children, as the main audience these movie are targeting.

The irresponsible attitude and lack of morality of many film producers today is undermining the spiritual and moral side of society.

It's not a lone case, A movie made in 2014, "Noah", a clearly huge symbolic event in human history, was depicted also in a twisted form, please check this report by Mike Dice:
